The LEC’s opening split for the 2024 season brought about a very familiar result; G2 Esports winning and are now favourites for the LEC Power Rankings Spring Split. However, the misfortunes of those lower in the LEC rankings during Winter have led to a number of teams making changes with the potential to shift the LEC power rankings this split.

Like any other power rankings, these are entirely subjective at the time of writing with the simple aim of helping out your LEC betting.
10. Karmine Corp
Something had to give after KC’s disastrous start to the season, however, the removal of head coach YamatoCannon is a headscratcher, to say the least. His drafts were solid last split and he’s a renowned man manager, so it would be a surprise to see much of an improvement — if any — from the French organisation following his departure and with no changes to the roster itself.
9. GIANTX
While GIANTX didn’t have the worst split last time around, their whimper of a playoff run triggered a change in coaching staff with head coach Hidon making way for the now-promoted Kaas. Hidon’s arrival triggered their resurgence last summer – a run that eventually saw them finish second in the Summer split playoffs, so this move could easily see them slip down the LEC power rankings.
8. Rogue
Rogue looked uninspired in Winter and their performances were a far cry from those that won them the 2022 Summer split. The pieces on the team are solid and they’ve one of the region’s most trustworthy performers in the mid-lane, but that didn’t launch them to any kind of a decent finish last split.
Coach fredy122 was with them during their best days – the thought that he could do so again provides a glimmer of hope for them now. If he’s unable to improve the side then KC and GIANTX’s failings may still gift Rogue a route to the playoffs.
7. Team Heretics
Team Heretic’s legendary top side were all used to being amongst the best LEC teams, so their lacklustre playoff finish unsurprisingly triggered changes.
While Kaiser wasn’t especially bad in Winter, his benching to make way for Trymbi should be an upgrade, and letting go of underperforming Perkz also seems a good move in a vacuum. The question marks come in the manner of the mid-laner’s departure, said to have only been decided days before the split began after they already began scrimmaging with the Croation on the roster.
6. SK Gaming
SK has proven to be a respectable mid-table team and should be a shoo-in for playoffs. Head coach Swiffer has gone under the radar as consistently earning playoff finishes despite a lack of stars on the roster. However, top laner Irrelevant has now proven himself among the best in his role and can be that star that takes the side to the next level at future LoL tournaments.
5. Team Vitality
Team Vitality is another side blessed with an excellent coaching staff in the form of Mac, Pad and Carter.
They already showed the benefits of their leadership after steering Vitatliy away from the bottom of the LEC power ranking following a 0-3 start last split, eventually finding a sixth-place finish. With more time to work with the roster, Vitality could easily start a run up the LEC rankings.
4. MAD Lions KOI
MAD Lions KOI shocked Europe with their second-place finish in Winter having been predicted to flop with their rookie-filled lineup.
The existing synergies between their former Movistar Riders players and Elyoya’s prior relationship with coach Melzhet may have helped them hit the ground running, but other teams’ improvements could cause MDK to slip slightly down the LEC power rankings.
3. Fnatic
Fnatic is an organisation used to winning LoL tournaments throughout its history, but recent years haven’t been so successful.
They came close to another title in the 2023 season finals but have looked slightly worse so far this year. Their fortunes in this split may be more dependent on other sides around them like BDS and MDK slipping up rather than taking charge themselves.
2. Team BDS
This could be a make-or-break split for Team BDS. They’ve been a side on the rise since last season and their risky replacing of bot laner Crownie for Ice paid off so far.
But their temporary benching of Adam before a key playoff series may either trigger the enigmatic top laner to put his head down and pull out more great performances, or could chip deeper into the out-of-game cracks.

There’s not a huge amount to say about G2. They’re far and away the best team in the LEC and anything other than another trophy would be a disastrous split for the organisation.
