Let’s take a closer look at the teams in these IEM Melbourne Playoffs and discuss who we think is coming out on top in our CS2 predictions.
Team Vitality – An Untouchable Side

Patiently waiting in the Semifinals, Team Vitality cannot be touched in CS2 right now. Earning this seed after a flawless record (the only team at the event to do so), Vitality is enjoying a winner’s parade after three consecutive CS2 tournament wins.
Specifically, so far in 2025 the roster has already won over $650,000 in prize pool – an insane statistic. Accordingly, nobody in the community is questioning their leave of PGL Bucharest after showing up with such confident form.
Their biggest competitors at IEM Melbourne seem to be MOUZ. Meeting in the past two Grand Finals, Vitality won both times, but last time it was a close 3:2 finish.
Without a doubt, Vitality are the CS2 betting favourites.
MOUZ – Another Opportunity

Accused of being Tier 2 CS2 merchants after winning PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, MOUZ has proven everybody wrong with two resounding finishes at ESL Pro League Season 21 and BLAST Open Spring 2025.
So far they have performed as expected, claiming the second Semifinal seed after making quick work of Group A & conceding a single map. Just like MOUZ, their storyline seems to be rather one-dimensional – they can beat everyone right now except Vitality.
Indeed, MOUZ has the opportunity to face Vitality a third time in a consecutive Grand Final. Although stomped the first time, the BLAST Open Spring 2025 Grand Final went down to the wire. Honestly, this Grand Final could go MOUZ’s way if they learn from the past.
IEM Melbourne – Is There Nobody Else?
Considering the strength of the favourites left in the competition, can any of the Quarterfinals teams make a run to the Grand Final? Here’s a quick summary of our thoughts for the contending teams:
- The MongolZ – the best Asian CS2 of all-time, The MongolZ continues to try their best to make history and try win the first international Tier 1 tournament for Asia. Favoured against Liquid, unluckily for The MongolZ they’re on Vitality’s side of the bracket – a team they are 0-5 against.
- The Falcons – the new firepower from m0NESY helped this team overcome Natus Vincere. Heavily favoured against GamerLegion and facing MOUZ, Falcons’ unpredictability after the roster change gives them more of a chance of making a surprising deep run.
Otherwise, GamerLegion and Liquid have the odds stacked against them.
